70 Years of Gone With the Wind

The Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum is hosting a big 70 year celebration "Re-Premiere" event this weekend. The event starts on Friday, November 13th, with Gone With the Wind authors and cast members Q&A at The Strand Theater on the Marietta Square. Later in the day there will be the "world's largest Virgina Reel" performed by 70 costumed couples at Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Friday events conclude with a "Belles and Beaus" costume ball. Saturday, November 18th, events include autograph signings, a vintage car parade, a special appearance by TCM's Robert Osborne, and the "re-premiere" of the film Gone With the Wind, and other events. Sounds like a big celebration! Art in the Park

Each Labor Day weekend the Marietta Square host the "Art in the Park" festival. The 23 year old celebration begins this Saturday, September 5th and goes through Monday, September 7th. It is a huge art festival with over 130 artist in painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, jewelry and more. There is also an interactive Art Alley where young and old can create take home art for free! Free admission. For more information visit their website at mariettaartinthepark.com.
